Manager of Online Sales

Channel Velocity, Inc. is seeking a Manager of Online Sales to manage the entire selling process for our on-line marketplaces. We are a young, growing firm selling a variety of consumer products on behalf of manufacturers and retailers through eBay, Amazon, client-branded stores and our own .com website. We are servicing major brand name companies and experiencing very rapid growth. We are also an eBay Certified Solution Provider. Up to a five year background in retail merchandising, marketing or sales support is ideal for this position. One of our firm’s core competencies is high volume consumer sales and product fulfillment, so exposure to operations and/or e-commerce marketing is helpful.

Responsibilities:

Product Merchandising
Writing and editing clear, concise product descriptions.
Product research via the web and OEM documentation.
Coordinating the workflow process between inbound shipping and auction-ready products
Sourcing high performing products from current OEM clients
Constant improvement of the auction process through merchandising, listing, support, and fulfillment

Requirements:

Have positive attitude and aptitude.
Be a highly analytical person. (If you enjoy competitive research and market research, you will love this job.)
Have experience with MS Office, MS Excel, MS Outlook
Have impeccable grammar and spelling
Background in retailing
Be comfortable in a deadline sensitive environment
Be willing to ask for help when necessary
Work independently but share knowledge and learning
Be unimpressed by a high rise office and Herman Miller chairs, because we don’t have either of those
Be able to have fun, make jokes (preferably ones that are funny), and be creative

One or more qualities we would really like, but do not require:

A Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree
Retail experience with brand name consumer products (electronics, power tools, DJ equipment, coffee and/or espresso machines, vacuum cleaners)
E-commerce experience
Familiarity with the eBay user experience (as either a buyer or seller)
HTML experience
80's movie trivia knowledge
