The Educational Products Assistant works with the Associate Director, Technology & Products, in all phases of the production, marketing, and sale of continuing legal education course materials and products, as well as the development of new products/product lines and formats. The Products Assistant coordinates the submission of articles and other course materials and faculty biographies; compiles course materials in a cohesive, attractive, and user-friendly publication; posts program materials online on a daily basis; communicates with and oversees print, audio/video duplicating, and fulfillment vendors; creates and tests digital media files (such as MP3 and WAV files) for the Center’s audio and video downloads and online courses; designs and formats Web pages using Dreamweaver software and HTML coding; designs/formats Center communications pieces—in print and online; and responds to member and customer queries regarding products and content.
Requirements include:
· College degree with an emphasis in English, Journalism, and/or Publishing
· Three years of related business experience is preferred. Experience working with
attorneys, in publishing, or in a continuing legal education or other professional
continuing education environment is preferred.
· Strong technical aptitude with a high level of expertise with Microsoft Office
programs—Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; PDFs and Adobe Acrobat
software; digital media files such as MP3 and Wav, and digital media software such
as RealPlayer, Windows Media, and iTunes; and image-editing software such as
Photoshop
· Experience with desktop publishing tools, Web site and Internet applications such as
Dreamweaver, and HTML coding
· Familiarity with meta data, search engines, and search engine optimization tools
· Ability to set priorities and the flexibility to continuously adjust priorities
· Strong command of the English language (written and verbal)
· Solid editing and proofreading skills
· Excellent follow-through
· Strong analytical abilities
· Strong interpersonal skills
· Creative abilities and an eye for good design—both print and Web design
