Position Description:
The Meeting Planner is responsible to ensure that all group travel functions operate within CWT standards. This individual assists in the development / presentation of group proposals, determines meeting types, analyzes costs, negotiates with hotels and other suppliers, accompanies group meeting clients in making on-site inspections, secures all contractual agreements and up-front deposit money. Performs a variety of administrative duties, creates and maintains files on properties and suppliers, conducts varied correspondence. Continually monitors cost involved to ensure a profitable group movement, coordinates final billing to the client.
Position Requirements:
College level course of study in hotel management or related discipline or equivalent experience.
Minimum of one year experience in hotel or travel industry.
Minimum of one year experience in group/meeting planning
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated capacity to work with top-level executives
Strong presentation / customer service skills
Detail oriented
Familiarity with GDS systems, Internet, Microsoft Office
